Hi there! I'm Kristin, the sole owner and doula here at Blooming Births. I too was an expecting mother once. I had my first and only son in January of 2024 and my goodness is he wonderful! I became very passionate about doula services shortly after I gave birth to my son. I had a pretty traumatic birthing experience... Unfortunately, most women do. While I was pregnant, I was researching and learning everything I possibly could to ease the fear of labor. I thought I was prepared and when the time came to go to the hospital, well, everything went right out the window. I was reliant on hospital staff to carry me through this experience because I thought they had my best interests at heart... I was in labor for 14 hours, two of those hours were spent pushing. I know firsthand how hard and exhausting this journey can be without the right support and advocacy. After some time and some thinking, I decided why not start small and do some classes and I LOVED it! This is something I am truly passionate about, and I cannot wait to get started! At the moment, I have just completed my training, and I have few requirements left to complete before I am DONA (Doulas Of North America) International certified. This is as of April 2025. I will be sure to update my bio as soon as I have three births under my belt, to which I will post my certification certificate here on the website. I know it may sound scary trusting someone through one of the toughest experiences in life, but I assure you I have every intention of prioritizing your needs and wants through labor while supporting you the best way you need because I want each of my clients to NEVER have to go through a traumatic birthing experience. Around here we are women who support women!
